Haifa, Israel - August 11, 2014 As a result of the partnership between the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB) and the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), CCB representative traveled to Israel to participate in the International Course on Business Innovation. This course also included field trips to the most innovative global business ecosystems within Israel.

The course on Business Innovation, which began on July 28 and runs through August 14, is based at the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center MCTC) in Haifa and is organized as part of international technical cooperation between the YABT, MASHAV and MCTC Israel. CCB is represented at the course by Mrs. Liliana Vargas Rivera, Senior Business Consultant from the Vicepresidency of Business Strengthening at Bogotá Emprende.

The International Course offers a space for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in innovation, bringing together key elements for the design and implementation of innovation management to increase the competitiveness of companies.

"[For me, this course] has been an amazing experience, not only for being in Israel, but because I get to know wonderful people who have enriched me, and who are also working on the topic of entrepreneurship in their home countries. Some are entrepreneurs, others want to turn their idea into a strat-up, and others are working in similar organizations to the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá", said Mrs. Vargas.

During this course, participants have learned first hand the work of the CCB, focused on strengthening business capabilities and improving the productive environment in the Bogota region. Given its strong economic growth, Bogotá is now considered one of the most attractive cities for investment in Latin America, as evidenced in the recent Report on Competitive Positioning of Bogotá 2014.

Moreover, Vargas added: “These last days, I acquired tools and elements to offer better and most effective advices to our entrepreneurs and busines people, which will help me to strengthen the methodology that Bogotá Chamber of Commerce is currently implementing with the business community."

YABT and CCB reaffirm their commitment to continue joining efforts to contribute to sustainable economic development of the region of Bogotá. In doing so, YABT and CCB aim to advance actions to support entrepreneurship and business development.
