Evaluation phase for TIC Americas 2014 officially begins
Washington D.C., March 15, 2014 − The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) is pleased to announce that the period for the 2,165 registered teams to complete their applications for TIC Americas has ended.
Over the past weeks, YABT staff has stepped up efforts to get in touch with each and every team in order to assist all participants with the preparation of their business plans and other required documents. Moreover, YABT has been able to clarify all inquiries from those participants who individually contacted our staff via email, Facebook, and/or Twitter. YABT's aim was to assist effectively those in need to complete successfully their documents in order to proceed to the evaluation phase.
During the following weeks, international judges will evaluate all participating team's business plans, prototypes, website, and promotional videos. In doing so, they will select the 22 finalists of TIC Americas, which are distributed in the following way:
- 3 finalists for the Social Innovation category,
- 3 finalists for the Economic Innovation category,
- 12 finalists for the Eco-Challenge category,
- 4 finalists for TIC Americas Paraguay.
The finalists will be announced on April 25 and YABT will offer a scholarship to one representative of every finalist team to cover travel expenses for the finals of TIC Americas in Asuncion, Paraguay. During the TIC Americas finals, team representatives will have the opportunity to participate in training sessions, roundtables, entrepreneurial debates, leadership sessions, and networking encounters with Paraguayan enterprises.
Finally, YABT welcomes all the Paraguayan youth and people interested in topics related to entrepreneurship and innovation to participate in the finals of TIC Americas on June 1st and 2, 2014.
