Celebrating the 3rd Salvadoran Youth Dialogue

San Salvador, El Salvador, May 17, 2014 — The Association for Development of Education, Health, Environment and Infrastructure of El Salvador (ALDESAI), in cooperation with the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the Municipality of Santa Tecla, have organized the Salvadoran Youth Dialogue for the third consecutive year, taking place May 23rd in the Palace of Arts and Culture. This dialogue involves the participation of approximately two hundred youth and will focus on the theme of "Education and Technology for Inclusive Development".

The Salvadoran Youth Dialogue will include Roundtables to discuss topics within the theme of "Education and Technology for Development and Social Inclusion".

During the Dialogue, the youth contribute their ideas and recommendations, which are then expressed in a written statement that will take into consideration the thoughts and feelings of this sector of the population, relating to the issues presented at the 44th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS). The recommendations resulting from this encounter in the Salvadoran capital will be presented in the Youth Dialogue, to take place during the 2014 TIC Americas Finals in Paraguay, a hemispheric initiative within the framework of the annual meeting of the OAS ambassadors.

This 3rd Youth Dialogue includes the support and participation of more than sixty national youth organizations, and international organizations such as the YABT which has supported the initiative from the beginning, as well as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), among others.

It should be noted that this Dialogue is an effort of the Salvadoran youth in compliance with the commitments made during the 3rd Youth Forum of the Americas, which took place in 2012 in Cartagena, Colombia. ALDESAI, together with other organizations and young leaders from the region, join forces to advance in this objective, uniting the countries of the Americas through its youth.
