TIC Americas winner will take part in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Kenya

Washington D.C., July 20th, 2015 - Dale Trotman sees himself as a very ambitious young person who strove for a way to improve the medical sector within the Caribbean after witnessing the inefficiencies of the system. MedRegis, his business idea and proposed solution, reached the finals of the Caribbean Innovation Challenge, and then won the Social Innovation Award at TIC Americas X Edition in Panama City, Panama.

“I entered the Caribbean Innovation Challenge in 2013 and TIC Americas 2014. I believed I was prepared and I made a promise to myself on December 31st 2014 that 2015 will be my year of entrepreneurial success. In late 2014 I decided to enter TIC Americas 2015 X Edition which was part of the IV Young Americas Forum; this was an official activity of the VII Summit of the Americas” Dale explains.

“The aim of MedRegis is to create a suite of comprehensive medical apps for doctor offices, clinics, and other ambulatory care settings.  The idea was originally a traditional electronic health record for persons with chronic diseases and disabilities. After an assiduous examination of the local and regional market, I realized due to the infancy of Health Tech in the region the electronic health record should assist with any type of patient” describes the young entrepreneur.

With the support of the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the United States Government, Dale has now the opportunity to participate in the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 25 and 26. It will be the sixth annual gathering of entrepreneurs at all stages of business development, business leaders, mentors, and high-level government officials.

“It was on March 6th 2015 that I received the euphoric news that I was chosen as one of thirty-two finalists chosen from 2734 entrants. I was on my way to Panama. Although I could not contain my excitement I made sure that I remained grounded and focused on the tasks at hand one step at a time”.
