YABT announces new awards category and extends registration for TIC Americas 2014
YABT and the Executive Secretariat for the Integral Development (SEDI) of the Organization of American States (OAS), have the pleasure to announce a new award subcategory on Social Innovation as part of TIC Americas.
With the purpose of providing more opportunities to young entrepreneurs to participate in this new category, the registration of TIC Americas will be extended until the March 2nd, 2014 at 5:00 PM (Washington D.C. Time).
TIC Americas 2014 launched its registration on September 12th, 2013 and will close on March 2nd, 2014. This new deadline will allow more young entrepreneurs to receive the benefits that are offered by TIC Americas 2014 with the addition of the new category on Social Innovation www.ticamericas.net.
The participating projects will be evaluated during the months of March and April by a group of international judges who will analyze the proposals and provide constructive comments to all the teams that comply with the requirements of the program. The finalists will be announced on April 25th, and from this date they will receive additional training in preparation for the on-site final that will take place on June 2nd, 2014 in Paraguay within the framework of the XLIV General Assembly of the OAS.
TIC Americas 2014 includes two award categories:
- Talent and Innovation Awards: Category focused on social and economical innovation through entrepreneurship. These proposals can be projects in implementation or to be implemented. This award is a joint initiative of YABT and SEDI.
- Eco-Challenge Awards: Special category that awards projects focused on environmental issues. Eco-Challenge is a joint initiative between YABT and PepsiCo that looks to promote sustainable solutions to confront the challenges of environmental problems.
TIC Americas is a competition that goes further than the elaboration of a business plan because it incorporates support and follow-up activities, brings international visibility, and the possibility of access to contact networks and to new markets.
TIC Americas is a program of the Young Americas Business Trust, YABT, a non-profit international organization that works in cooperation with the OAS. YABT supports the objectives of the Member States of the OAS, fostering programs of youth development that promote the creation of businesses that generate jobs and promotes better living conditions for the region's youth.
