Training of Trainers Business Lab Workshop in the Caribbean successfully transfers methodology across the region
22, November, Castries. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Subregional Office for Barbados and the OECS, the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) of the OAS in collaboration with Israel MASHAV/MCTC and other National partners, closed today, the First Regional Training of Trainers on Business Labs Methodology Saint Lucia.
A Training of Trainers focuses on sharing the Business Lab Workshop methodology with experts and potential trainers from the Caribbean, within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The Workshop provide the necessary skills, tools, tips and resources as the first step to become a certified "Business Lab Trainer", by the organizing partners. After the workshop, participants will receive further guidance and support to organize, conduct and implement Business Labs workshops for young entrepreneurs at the National level. Organizers thank national partners, including the Ministry of Tourism, Heritage & Creative Industry and the Ministry of Youth and Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs, for their support in this activity.
The Business Labs program develops 5-day workshops that focus on providing their participants with hands-on training and helping them acquire tools that will aid them in the development of innovative ideas and their implementation. From day one, the trainees begin working with experts provided by the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC) to build on their initial project ideas with the objective of presenting a consolidated business model on the last day of the workshop. The goal is to facilitate business development for young entrepreneurs.
*These workshops are directly linked with supporting youth entrepreneurship programs in the Caribbean, including the Caribbean Innovation Challenge (CIC), an international entrepreneur competition and business start-up accelerator for young people in the CARICOM Member states. The CIC is a component of the UNDP Barbados and the OECS Project: "Youth Innovation (Youth-IN): A Caribbean Network for Youth Development".
