YABT-MASHAV and national partners launched Business Labs focused on Green Enterprises in Antigua and Barbuda
Washington DC, June 30, 2014 - The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the Israeli Government International Cooperation Agency (MASHAV) launched a Business Labs focused on supporting the development of youth-lead Green Enterprises, which is taking place from June 30 through July 4 in St. Johns, Antigua & Barbuda at the Department of Youth Conference Room. This unique program offers an opportunity for young entrepreneurs and potential trainers to gain an understanding of eco-friendly enterprises and how to start a business that contributes to sustainable economic development.
David Slyper and Rina Yaffe, Golda Meir-Mount Carmel International Training Centre (MCTC) specialists with extensive international experience in capacity building, are leading this course. This course will offer technical skills and advice on business planning, marketing, branding and evaluation of potential clients and markets. During this week, 35 participants will identify the challenges of business creation and will develop skills to create enterprises that help address the challenges facing their communities and their nations. Moreover, this training will focus on sustainable means to preserve the environment while providing guidance and support to generate viable and creative ideas in eco-friendly industries.

This workshop is organized by YABT with the support of national and international partners such as the Department of Youth Affairs, the Ministry of Social Transformation and Human Development of Antigua, the GARD Center, the Israeli Government through MCTC and MASHAV, the Organization of American States, among others. This training is the result of an international technical cooperation between OAS/YABT and MASHAV/MCTC with the assistance of the participants of the Caribbean TOT on Business Labs held in St Lucia in November 2013.
