YABT and the Itaipú Technological Park Sign Letter of Intent
Washington, D.C., January 22, 2016 – The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the Itaipú Technological Park (ITP) signed today in the headquarters of the Organization of the American States (OAS) a Letter of Intent. The objective of the agreement is that both organizations develop coordinated work for the promotion of entrepreneurship among young people in Paraguay.
Like this they consolidate the intensity of developing actions in a combined and coordinated manner between them that they include the participation of the ITP in the NexLinks workshops to be develop in the month of March in Asunción and also its participation in the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas, TIC Americas 2016, competition that the ITP supports since the development of the TIC Paraguay in the year 2014.
ITAIPU is the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. Its mission is to “generate quality electric energy, with social and environmental responsibility, driving sustainable economic, touristic and technological development in Paraguay and Brazil.”
With the objective of tending to this mission, the ITAIPU established the base for the creation of a space: the Itaipu Technological Park, destined to become a pole of scientific development – technology that contributes positively to regional development.
In its mission it establishes “To be a reference in the management of the culture of innovation, contributing to the integral and sustainable development of the territory in which it acts” therefore YABT takes interest with the objective of developing projects that foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Paraguay.
Luis Viguria, CEO of YABT states “This agreement will permit us to advance the strengthening of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Paraguay and in the region. To count on the support of the Itaipú Technological Park for the development of Projects without a doubt is a great step for our organization.”
The meeting was made possible by the support of the Permanent Mission of Paraguay, the OAS and the Embassy of Paraguay in the United States.
