YABT will participate in the Atlantic Council Panel regarding the IX Summit Of The Americas

Washington, DC, November 26, 2021.The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) has been invited to participate in the Roundtable “Road to the Summit: New Opportunities for a more inclusive Americas”, organized by the Atlantic Council through the Adrienne Arsht Center for Latin America. The event, organized in collaboration with the United States Department of State, is part of a series of events leading up to the IX Summit of the Americas to attract bold and innovative solutions to new audiences on problems in the Americas and will include a public campaign about the #RoadToTheSummit.

This first event will focus on how democracies can fulfill their commitments for all citizens of the Americas, and how to create new opportunities for women and vulnerable populations, among other topics; according to what emerges from the event's website.

Cecilia Vilchis, YABT Program Manager, will be a speaker at the Panel “Key Challenges and New Solutions to Democracy”, sharing the space with Claudia Umaña Araujo from FUSADES El Salvador; and Alana Rizzo from the YouTube company. The panel will be moderated by Carla Angola, Journalist at EVTV Miami.

The public will be able to hear some reflections on how democracy can serve the next generation. A space in turn, to highlight youth participation in the Ninth Summit of the Americas to be held next year in the United States, through the activities that make up the process of the VI Young Americas Forum, organized by YABT to include the diversity of youth voices in decision-making spaces in the Hemisphere.

The agenda will also include another panel titled "The Role of Women in Safeguarding Democracy." Participation in the event is free, and interested persons must previously register in this form.

YABT invites young leaders, entrepreneurs, youth affairs organizations, among other actors related to youth development, to join the live broadcast and share it with other stakeholders.
