Saint Vincent hosts Business Labs for Creative Industries
Washington DC, October 16, 2015 - "Capital isn't so important in business. Experience isn't so important. You can get both these things. What is important is ideas. If you have ideas, you have the main asset you need, and there isn't any limit to what you can do with your business and your life." Harvey Firestone. This is what twenty two participants accomplished in St Vincent & the Grenadines during the just concluded business labs workshop on IP and Product Branding for Creative Industries which ran from October 12 - 16, 2015.
This workshop was made possible by MASHAV – ISRAEL’S AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, JERUSALEM The Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC) in cooperation with YABT – Young Americas Business Trust - Organization of American States and the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines and Centre for Enterprise Development.
The week long hand on workshop helped transform the participants into new potential trainers and mentors to assist entrepreneurs with the business development support and guidance they need in order for their businesses to thrive. Topics covered included the Introduction to Branding: The Brand as an Effective Business Tool, The Canvas Business Model and more.
The team of experts were Ms. Rina Yaffe – VP MAOF- SBDC, North, Israel. Expert in developing training programs using experiential learning methods. Facilitation of innovative workshops on entrepreneurship and on the implementation of SME supporting tools and networks in developing countries. Ms. Sharon Gesthalter - Brand Strategist and experienced lecturer on branding as a business tool. Has led numerous branding projects in Israel, USA, Europe and Asia, ranging from small businesses to enterprise level processes. Expert in building a brand strategy as part of a comprehensive marketing plan, while guiding creative teams from concept to implementation.
Several officials visited the workshop during the week which included Ambassador Mordehai Amihai-Bivas - Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations and Embassy of Israel to Barbados, Guyana, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia,St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago. Senator The Hon Camillo Gonsalves - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Commerce & Information Technology and Senator Luke Browne Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Sports & Culture.
