Business Lab Workshops on Innovation to be held in El Salvador and Honduras
The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), the Organization of American States (OAS) and Israel's Agency for Development and Cooperation (MASHAV) will train young entrepreneurs and local experts in El Salvador and Honduras, as part of the Business Labs program designed to propel innovation and competitiveness in entrepreneurship. The activity in Honduras will take place within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The Business Labs program develops 5-day workshops that focus on providing their participants with hands-on training and helping them acquire tools that will aid them in the development of innovative ideas and their implementation. From day one, the trainees begin working with experts provided by Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC) in Haifa Israel; they work to build on their initial project ideas with the objective of presenting a consolidated business model on the last day of the workshop. The goal is to facilitate business development for young entrepreneurs, and in the case of "Training of Trainers" create a space for the exchange of best practices, while sharing methodologies that are later replicated to create a multiplier effect in the activity's host country.
Both Business Lab Workshops are focused on Innovation and organized by YABT with support from our local partners. The Workshop in El Salvador will take place from November 11-15th, 2013 in San Salvador and is possible thanks to the Asociación para el desarrollo de la Educación, Salud, Medio Ambiente e Infraestructura en el Salvador (ALDESAI), and INSERT. In Honduras, the activity is hosted from November 18-22nd, 2013 in Tegucigalpa with support from the Education Development Center (EDC) through the METAS project.
Each workshop will be delivered to over 30 young people, who are actively involved in employment development projects, whether as organizers or beneficiaries. The main objective is to provide the participants with a general vision on critical elements that support competitiveness and how this is done through definition, implementation and management of innovative processes. The workshop looks to establish the idea that innovation is a necessity for improvement in entrepreneurship and employment.
Stay tuned for the Call for Applications for both Workshops!
*The Workshops are part of the preparatory stages for the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas (TIC Americas) and Eco-Challenge 2014. The program was launched on October 4th, 2013 and host it's finals next year in Paraguay. TIC Americas and Eco-Challenge are organized by the YABT, with PepsiCo and the OAS, and supports young entrepreneurs in the development of their projects and the improvement of the business that are already implemented.
