Training on Business Development in Central America
Washington, D.C., August 18, 2016 - Costa Rica and Panama will be the host countries for the upcoming trainings under the NexLinks program "Support Systems for Business Development" coordinated by the Young Americas Business Trust in collaboration with MASHAV and MCTC. They are designed for professionals of inter-sectoral entities responsible for providing business services, as well as for young entrepreneurs supported from the local entrepreneurial ecosystems.
NexLinks aims to transfer knowledge and proper tools to improve and expand the offer of support and assistance during the process of creating and accelerating a business endeavor.
Jaime Amsel and Laura Altchuler, Israeli specialists will be in charge of conducting the training - both in representation of the Mount Carmel International Training Center and MASHAV, with headquarters in Haifa, Israel. Thanks to the technical cooperation between the YABT, the OAS and the Government of Israel through the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), each year YABT executes more than a dozen training programs for capacity building in terms of entrepreneurship, innovation and business development (see Israel and YABT: 15 years supporting young entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean).
The City of Knowledge, located near the Panama Canal, will host the first workshop on the date of August 29 to September 2, with the support of the Innovation Center. Meanwhile, Costa Rica will host the second workshop from September 5 to 9, organized hand in hand with the National University of Costa Rica, entity that fosters academic entrepreneurship.
Both workshops want to support the efforts of each country to boost cooperation, and improve the offer of support and resources for the growing business community, focused on young entrepreneurs.
NexLinks is a regional program created by YABT and the OAS focused on creating mechanisms and tools for organizations supporting young entrepreneurs and SMEs in the startup phases and expansion of their businesses. This program serves as a focal point of access to resources, content and key contacts. It also improves the level and consistency of support services offered to young entrepreneurs and SMEs in the region.
