Letter of Intent between YABT and the GCL Program Alumni of Georgetown University

Washington DC, March 22, 2017 - Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the alumni network of the Global Competitiveness Leadership Program (GCL Program Alumni) at Georgetown University consolidate an alliance to empower young leaders of the Americas. The agreement aims to support the efforts of both parties to promote participatory youth leadership in the Americas and foster the linkage of young leaders in the region. It also seeks to create more and better opportunities to promote the development of entrepreneurship, innovation and youth programs.

The Letter of Intent was presided by Mr. Luis Viguria, Chief Executive Offer of the Young Americas Business Trust and Mr. Mario Romero President of the alumni network of the Global Competitiveness and Leadership Program at Georgetown University. The event was also attended by Nelson Ortiz, the President of the Advisory Committee of GCL, Miriam Ostria, the Deputy Director of the Latin American Board, and Pablo Zuñiga, Director of the OAS Art Museum of the Americas (AMA).

Luis Viguria, CEO of YABT expressed "It is the commitment of YABT to promote the social and economic development of young people around the world. Through entrepreneurship training and the creation of opportunities for future leaders, the YABT community contributes to the achievement of global goals as well as the strengthening of youth-led sustainable development initiatives".

YABT programs have a positive impact on aspects of youth life. Since its foundation, YABT has aided more than 40,000 young people in 75 countries through programs and activities that enable young people to be productive members of their communities, opening a space for them to act as contributing partners to the development of their countries and region.

The alumni network of the Global Competitiveness Leadership Program of Georgetown University, founded in 2009, promotes integration between participants from different countries and generations and the dissemination and updating of their activities. It provides valuable information on training opportunities and business, among others.
