Business Lab Workshops in the Caribbean to transfer methodology across the region

The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Subregional Office for Barbados and the OECS, in collaboration with MASHAV/MCTC and other National partners, will conduct two Business Lab Workshops this November in Guyana and St. Lucia. We are pleased to announce that the regional Training of Trainers in St. Lucia will, for the first time, focus on sharing the Business Lab Workshop methodology with experts from the Caribbean. Also, the activity will take place within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

A regional Training of Trainers, taking place in St. Lucia will provide the necessary skills, tools, tips and resources as the first step to become a certified "Business Lab Trainer", by the organizing partners. After the workshop, participants will receive further guidance and support to organize, conduct and implement Business Labs workshops for young entrepreneurs at the National level.

The Business Labs program develops 5-day workshops that focus on providing their participants with hands-on training and helping them acquire tools that will aid them in the development of innovative ideas and their implementation. From day one, the trainees begin working with experts provided by the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC) to build on their initial project ideas with the objective of presenting a consolidated business model on the last day of the workshop. The goal is to facilitate business development for young entrepreneurs.

The Regional Training of Trainers in St. Lucia will be hosted on November 11-15, 2012 and is designed for capacity building among experts in the region. For the first time, a workshop will focus on specifically transferring and teaching the methodology used in the Business Labs program. We are grateful for the support of our local partners, the Ministry of Tourism, Heritage & Creative Industry, Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs. The training in Guayana will take place on November 25-29, 2013 and will provide youth and local experts with necessary skills on entrepreneurship in Creative Industries. The workshop is possible thanks to the local cooperation of the Ministry of Youth's Youth Entrepreneurial Skills Training Programme.
