Washington, D.C. November 4th, 2015 – Within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) will develop and participate in different activities focused on promotion and support of young entrepreneurs and innovators. The Global Entrepreneurship Week is a world movement that aims to strengthen entrepreneurial culture in the 149 participating countries through events and activities taking place simultaneously.
In Colombia, YABT, in coordination with the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, will hold the second edition of the International Meeting on High Impact Entrepreneurship in the framework of the Program “NexLinks: Fostering Support Systems for Entrepreneurship Development in the Americas”. The event will take place in Bogota, on November 17-18. During these two days, a group of experts and entrepreneurs will discuss and debate on the new entrepreneurial tendencies in the hemisphere and the world.
In the Caribbean, “Business Labs” on Intellectual Property (IP) and Product Branding for Creative Industries will be held in Trinidad and Tobago, form November 16-20; and in Belize, form November 9-13. This trainingsare a part of the REACH Program (Regional Entrepreneurial Asset Commercialization Hub), which is a regional technical cooperation project financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and targeted to entrepreneurs from the Caribbean.
In Peru, YABT will be part of the activities led by the San Ignacio de Loyola University (USIL) imparting social entrepreneurship and access to finance meetings.
YABT, through its Business Opportunity Online Training Camp – BOOT Camp – will carry out several trainings oriented to training young entrepreneurs. These online sessions are a resource center provided by YABT in order for youth to access academic contents on project formulation, marketing, and management. These sessions are crucial for the development of ideas and the creation of new businesses.
All these activities promoted by YABT aim to facilitate and provide the resources necessary for the development of ideas, to expand and consolidate businesses, and that new spaces can be created for the exchange of good practices and successful stories. This will support the growth of entrepreneurship as the engine of progress in Latin America and the Caribbean.
