Colombia has the potential to propel high value-add businesses and we look to help the efforts of local organizations, such as the Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá (CCB) in order to support and promote this type of undertakings. The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) announced this through the implementation of two Workshops that will focus on innovation and the support of dynamic entrepreneurships and will be held in partnership with the Centro de Emprendimiento Bogotá Emprende
The YABT, an international organization that works in cooperation with the Organization of American States and has achieved the recognition of the social impact of youth in the Summits of the Americas, highlighted that both workshops are part of the technical international cooperation program endorsed by the State of Israel through the Israel's Agency for Development and Cooperation (MASHAV) and the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC). The Workshops will be directed by international specialists from MCTC Israel, following a broad range of topics related to entrepreneurial programs and business development on the international level.
The first Workshop to take place on March 4-8, 2013, will be "InnovAction: Innovation Management". It will focus on providing the participants with a general outlook on the critical components of business competitiveness improvement through the definition, implementation and management of innovative processes.
The second group of managers will take advantage of the "Support System to High Impact Entrepreneurs" Workshop that will be held on March 11-15, 2013. The goal of the program is to provide tools and resources that will allow for the amplification and alignment of the support services offered by the Centers, in order to streamline those businesses that possess high growth potential and are capable of launching valuable proposals in the objective market.
At the same time, the workshops will facilitate knowledge exchange between its participants, and allow the Israelis to share their expertise regarding the discussion topics. Among the activities included in the agenda are practical exercises, educational visits, and special area analysis.
These Workshops are made possible thanks to a strategic alliance between the YABT and the Entrepreneurship Center Bogota Emprende, a partnership that promotes entrepreneurship and innovation in Colombia, and benefits young entrepreneurs by providing them with support through programs that are aimed at accelerating their business initiatives and connecting them with opportunities. Bogota Emprende is a program of the Secretariat of Economic Development of the Mayor's of Bogota and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (BCC). Supporting entrepreneurship is a way to encourage the necessary talent to create businesses that contribute to economic development. The latter was recently ratified with the adoption of the "Entrepreneurship for Development" Resolution by the United Nations General Assembly, with Israel's support and YABT's participation.
