The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and PepsiCo are pleased to announce the teams selected to participate in the Eco-Entrepreneur 2013, a program that looks to support the implementation and expansion of projects registered in the Eco- Challenge, through theoretical and practical tools, business accompaniment and on-site training.
The participation opportunity was aimed at more than 1,500 teams registered in past editions of the Eco-Challenge, who presented a video showing the impact and implications of projects. Fifteen (15) teams were selected by an international committee of experts in sustainable development and each one will receive a full scholarship to participate in a week of intensive training at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS) this month of August in Washington, DC.
The training will be provided by high-profile panelists and the activities will see participation from private, public and academic sector institutions. Also, the teams will perform study visits to international organizations such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.
Eco-Entrepreneur includes a preparation phase in anticipation of the activities that will take place in Washington. The beneficiaries will be connected with the network of YABT's partner organizations, known as NexLinks Centers , to aid the entrepreneurs in capitalizing on the opportunities they can benefit from in August.
The program also integrates the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, from University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, as one of its partners, who will share their renown support methodology with the NexLinks Centers.

We thank all the teams that applied for the first edition of Eco-Entrepreneur. We encourage those teams that were not selected to stay aware of the future opportunities to be offered by the YABT and PepsiCo, such as TIC Americas and Eco-Challenge 2014, with registrations to be open in August 2013.
NexLinks is a program focused on the creation of mechanisms and tools to support young entrepreneurs in the startup phase and expansion of their businesses.
