The Program "Bogota Emprende" was awarded the Nex Links Certification granted by YABT/OAS, as internationally recognized Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship
The Exhibition Hall of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (salitre) was the venue for the high-level recognition awarded to one of the leading entrepreneurship programs in Colombia, "Bogota Emprende "of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB) and the Mayor's office.
Nex Links Certification was awarded to "Bogota Emprende "by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), international organization working in cooperation with the Organization of American States (OAS). The certification was granted by the Founder and Chairman of the Board of YABT, Roy Thomason, and accepted by the Executive Chairman of the CCB, Dr. Consuelo Caldas Cano, accompanied by Camilo Moreno Orrego, the Deputy Director of Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Economic Development at the Mayor's office.
Nex Links: is a support and Monitoring program of the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) that promotes entrepreneurship by empowering institutions that focus on mechanisms to strengthen young people in their business creation. The program was funded by the Special Multilateral Fund of the American Council for Integral Development (FEMCIDI) of the OAS. Nex Links Certifications are awarded to entities of the OAS Member States that meet a set of standards for providing services and support business.
"YABT is proud to award the Nex Links Certification to "Bogota Emprende" for its excellent work on behalf of Colombian entrepreneurs. They not only put their trust, but also their dreams and goals as entrepreneurs," said Roy Thomasson of YABT, who traveled from the United States to attend the event. "Together we can build a better Colombia," said Thomasson.
"Bogota Emprende" is part of the Nex Links Regional Centers, entities that have experience, methodologies and programs to generate economic and social development of entrepreneurs. They provide expertise in the promotion, creation and monitoring of emerging companies. These centers exchange best practices and successful models, creating a regional cooperation platform with the support of YABT.
"Today we advance more opportunities for entrepreneurs to train with international experts, participate in academic and commercial events in different countries, and use the information acquired through this important certification," said the president the CCB, Consuelo Caldas.
