The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Barbados and the OECS and the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) are pleased to announce the upcoming "Mini Business Labs: From Idea to Action" for Young Entrepreneurs that will take place throughout the Caribbean from October 27 to November 3, 2012.
The Mini-Labs is a one-day awareness creation workshop that helps young people identify business ideas which later can be developed into business plans or established businesses. These sessions aim to support young people and to help them generate innovative business ideas as a preparation for them to register for the Caribbean Innovation Challenge (CIC), a regional competition promoting innovation, entrepreneurial initiatives and key resources for young people in the Caribbean.
The Mini Business Labs is a component in a larger UNDP program called: Youth-Innovation (Youth-IN): A Caribbean network for youth development, which promotes youth INclusion, youth INnovation, youth INterest and youth INvolvement. The CIC is also a component in the UNDP Youth-IN program.
These trainings will take place at the following locations in each country:
- October 27: T A Marryshow Community College, St. Patrick's Campus, Grenada
- October 29: Cultural Centre, Perry Bay, Antigua and Barbuda
- October 31: Garraway Hotel, Dominica
- November 2: University of the West Indies Conference Room, Bay Road, St. Kitts
- November 3: St. Paul's Anglican Church Hall Main Street, Nevis
They will be facilitated with assistance from key national partners.
