Jamaica, March 4, 2014 − The Young Americas Business Trust, CUSO International and the National Centre for Youth Development in Jamaica are proud to announce a replica Business Labs workshop for young entrepreneurs in Jamaica organized and implemented by former participants of the First Regional Training of Trainers on Business Labs Methodology Saint Lucia in November 2013, which was organized by YABT, UNDP Barbados and the Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation MASHAV.
Ms Joy-Anne Headley, CUSO International Volunteer; placed with The Jamaica Diaspora Institute, and Mr. Dowell Williams of The National Centre for Youth Development (Ministry of Youth and Culture), will conduct this Business Labs Workshop, March 10 - 14 ,2014 Kingston, Jamaica.
It will focus on sharing the Business Labs methodology with the Trainees from different organizations in Jamaica while providing necessary skills, tools, tips and resources to aspiring young entrepreneurs and is designed for capacity building among participants.
The Business Labs program develops 5-day workshops that focus on providing their participants with hands-on training and helping them acquire tools that will aid them in the development of innovative ideas and their implementation. From day one, the trainees begin working to build on their initial project ideas with the objective of presenting a consolidated business model on the last day of the workshop. The goal is to facilitate business development for young entrepreneurs.
*These workshops are directly linked with supporting youth entrepreneurship programs in the Caribbean, including the Caribbean Innovation Challenge (CIC), an international entrepreneur competition and business start-up accelerator for young people in the CARICOM Member states. The CIC is a component of the UNDP Barbados and the OECS Project: "Youth Innovation (Youth-IN): A Caribbean Network for Youth Development".
