Washington DC, March 1, 2016 – The registration phase for business proposals in TIC Dominican Republic has closed and the evaluation phase will begin after today in the participating categories: Start-Up and Small and Medium Sized Enterprise (SME). The finalists will be announced through the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) official site www.yabt.net and its social networks.
TIC Dominican Republic was created thanks to the partnership between YABT and BanReservas. This first edition was developed with the objective of recognizing the Dominican entrepreneurial talent at the international level, putting special emphasis on the young Dominicans abroad that are interested in entrepreneurship or developing an innovative solution in their native country.
The participating projects will be evaluated between the month of March and April by a multidisciplinary committee. The three best projects will be announced April 15, 2016. All teams that completed all the requirements will receive feedback from our international judges. The finalists will participate in the finals in the month of June in Dominican Republic in the framework of the 46th General Assembly of the Organization of the American States (OAS) with all expenses paid.
The YABT appreciates BanReservas, official sponsor of the TIC Dominican Republic and exclusive financial institution of the program, as well as the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Office of the Organization of the American States in the Dominican Republic for all the support.
It should be noted that the commitment of these institutions has enabled the Dominican youth to have the opportunity to present their innovative proposals in an international competition. It is remarkable the high participation this edition had and the level of quality of the proposals in the Start-Up and SME categories. In this edition, the winner will receive $4,000 dollars in seed capital, one-on-one mentoring, and a booth in the International Expo that will be implemented in June during the finals of TIC Americas 2016, gaining access to international visibility, potential investors and international markets.
TIC Americas is a program of the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), an international nonprofit organization that works in cooperation with the OAS. YABT supports the objectives of the Member States of the OAS promoting youth development programs that promote the creation of businesses that create employment and that assure that youth improve their quality of life. www.yabt.net
