What is NexLinks?

NexLinks is a program focused on the creation of mechanisms and tools to support young entrepreneurs in the initial expansion phases of their businesses. It serves as a resource base for content and contacts; and is a supplement that improves the level and consistency of follow-up services provided to young entrepreneurs locally and internationally.

"NexLinks" represents the contacts that a resource center can offer to young entrepreneurs. It's name comes from the word nex (us), meaning connection point, while emphasizing the follow-up and monitoring component of the program, with the word nex (t). In order to expand and strengthen the existing network of contacts, YABT, its national chapters and other partners have set out to reach a new level of development for the Business Labs (a training program on managerial and entrepreneurial skills), which have proven to be successful workshops in the Americas. NexLinks was developed with support from the Special Multilateral Fund for Inter-American Council for Integral Development (FEMCIDI) of the OAS, the Israel Centre for International Development (MASHAV) and the Golda Meir Monte Carmel International Training Center (MCTC).

Who does it focus on?

NexLinks' target demographic includes people between the ages of 15 and 35 who are unemployed or under employed, but have a viable business idea or have started a business, which in turn requires additional monitoring services and resources. The leading candidates are those who will have attended business labs but need additional opportunities to incubate their businesses and thereby ensure sustainability in the long term.

Participants and Partners

YABT has established international partnerships that will provide additional support for this project. YABT works with a wide network of strategic cooperative contacts such as international donors, universities, national agencies and private sector companies.

Objectives

Improve follow-up services and connections in order to provide the young people in the Americas with additional viable options for sustainable personal or family income, by creating self-employment and business opportunities.

Improve access to business information, training, technology, consulting services, as well as technical and financial resources, thus increasing the administrative capacity of entrepreneurs and business sustainability.

Institutionalize NexLinks and similar programs within local governments, colleges, universities and the community in participating countries

Establish a Center for Entrepreneurial Development to serve as a physical location for entrepreneurs so they are able to access services and resources.

How do the Members of the NexLinks Network connect?

The NexLinks Centers Network has a virtual space where members can exchange information, best practices, share ideas and enable professional exchanges between institutions in the Americas. The virtual community YABTLINKS.NET is managed and administered by YABT where members share content on business development, such as entrepreneurship, innovation and others.

Considered the most important Opportunity Center for young entrepreneurs in the Americas, YABTLinks provides a space for discussions and forums, as well as a platform to share videos and photos, and a tool for the promotion of internship opportunities, access to resources, international visibility and more.
