In recent years there has been a remarkable acceleration of entrepreneurial activity. In this session, a select panel will address the main areas of opportunity and best practices in the face of the phenomenon of the advancement of entrepreneurship and its contribution to the multisectoral effort to counteract social gaps, from a territorial perspective and cross-border regions. These indicators will be highly related to the benefits and barriers of innovative entrepreneurship in the region, and will be addressed from the contexts: Migration, Climate Change and COVID-19. 13:30 – 14:00 | Opening of the Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership Expo The Expo is the meeting point between creativity and triple impact solutions, bringing together around 20 young leaders and entrepreneurs from throughout the region who are the result of YABT programs, such as TIC Americas and the Young Americas Forum, and from other organizations in the hemisphere. At the Expo you will be able to discover promising projects that are changing the world through innovation and youthful ingenuity, within a diversity of sectors and areas ranging from sustainability, digital transformation, civic education, among others. |
14:00 – 15:00 | First Plenary Session: Special Announcement Sustainability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Eco-Challenge 2023 In collaboration with PepsiCo Bebidas Latinoamérica – Flavia Araújo, Head of Corporate Affairs, PepsiCo Bebidas Latinoamérica – Luis A. Viguria, Chief Executive Officer, Young Americas Business Trust The Eco-Challenge is a special category on sustainability of the Talent and Innovation Competitions of the Americas Program (TIC Americas), and the result of the alliance with PepsiCo Bebidas Latinoamérica. Throughout 13 editions, the Eco-Challenge has promoted youth ventures that support sustainable development. For the 2023 edition, the Eco-Challenge will be aligned with the PepsiCo Positive strategy, responding to each of its pillars in order to support the construction of a better future for people and the planet. |
15:00 – 16:00 | Second Plenary Session: Hemispheric Dialogue: Participation and Action for Change and Sustainability In response to the priorities of the IX Summit of the Americas and the 52nd OAS General Assembly Dialogue is a space created to facilitate the exchange of ideas, proposals and aspirations of youth, helping to synthesize and present the work they have done based on the commitments established at the VI Young Americas Forum. After the opening panel, the youth delegates actively involved in the process will divide into working groups to discuss the actions and recommendations regarding the themes: (1) Climate Change, (2) COVID-19, (3) Connectivity and Digital Transformation, (4) Combating Corruption and (5) Inclusion and Equality, in response to the IX Summit of the Americas and the 52nd OAS General Assembly. The results of the Dialogue will be presented to the Member States during the Dialogue with Civil Society and Social Actors of the 52nd Regular Session of the OAS General Assembly. This open conversation with the rector of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Dr. Jeri Gloria Ramón Ruffner de Vega, will address the importance of diversity and gender equity in the public service and productive sectors, from which the empowerment and training of more women to transform communities from a holistic and influential vision to reduce structural gaps.
