San Jose, Costa Rica, July 17, 2017. The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), the Organization of American States and the Government of Israel through the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) Launched the Innovation Program "Business Laboratory Workshop focused on Innovation" in San José, Costa Rica, from August 7 to 11, 2017; In alliance with the National Government of Costa Rica through the Promoter of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica (PROCOMER).
The activity is possible in the Central American country thanks to international technical cooperation between YABT, the OAS and the Government of Israel, allowing support to the Member States of the OAS in their efforts to turn innovation into a tool for productive transformation, in order to create more job opportunities and sustainable economic growth.
The purpose of the program is to generate capacities for the improvement of business competitiveness, through the definition, implementation and management of innovation environments and processes. It will be led by Jaime Amsel and Nuria Levy, specialists from the Golda Meir International Training Center - MASHAV Carmel (MCTC) in Haifa, Israel.
The audience of the activity will be composed of professionals from public, private and academic entities, as well as young entrepreneurs, who demonstrate commitment to multiply the knowledge with other organizations and entrepreneurship community of the country. After the workshop, participants will be able to directly access follow-up programs and a portfolio of personalized accompaniment services tailored to their needs by YABT.
Program activities include plenary sessions, group discussions, case studies, and the formulation of innovation proposals to expose a panel of experts on the last date of the activity.
The collaboration between the governments of Costa Rica and Israel, and hemispheric organizations such as the YABT / OAS, show the potential of international alliances to stimulate economic opportunities for young people, and support them in promoting their enterprises with a global vision and creative innovation. The initiative also supports the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, betting on more solid and interconnected business ecosystems.
InnovAcción is a workshop focused on "hands-on training" through business exercises in which participants acquire skills that contribute to the development of innovation. The workshop focuses on the training of trainers on the theme of promoting entrepreneurs, trainers who can act at the level of incubators, innovation centers, universities, technological and industrial parks, productive sector, among other actors in the innovation ecosystem.
