News About the Young Americas Dialogue 2020

Washington, DC. March 24, 2020. Faced with the public health emergency situation that different countries are going through due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its status as a pandemic, the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) take in consideration the recommendations and considerations issued by international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO).  Following this line, we communicate to the public the postponement of the Young Americas Dialogue 2020 until further notice, including the format/modality in which it will take place. The final date and format will be announced during the next days.

Regardless of the format/modality established for the Young Americas Dialogue 2020, the YABT ensures that young people will continue to have the opportunity to contribute their recommendations towards a hemispheric report to be presented to international leaders.  The inputs of their reports and participation in the virtual dialogues and the ongoing virtual consultations, as well as the on-site dialogues that were held before March, will be considered into this final report produced by YABT.  This includes presenting the report with the recommendations to the authorities of the Member States of the Organization of American States (OAS), as well as other public and private sector leaders in the region.

For their part, the youth dialogues led by young people from the hemisphere will continue to be held virtually until May 29, 2020, as a measure of security and prevention for all those directly and indirectly involved in the activities related to the process.

Open and Renewed Virtual Consultation:

In order to continue to broaden the participation of young people in the hemisphere, the YABT will maintain the virtual consultations open, updating it periodically in order to adapt to current issues of interest for the youth participating. This channel of participation allows young people to express themselves individually, and the questionnaire can be easily completed by any young person at the following link:
