Washington DC, November 24th, 2015 - The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) is pleased to announce, for third year in a row, the Social Innovation Award for the Startup Category of the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas (TIC Americas). The Social Innovation Award is possible thanks to the Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) of the Organization of the American States (OAS).
This Award is an opportunity for young entrepreneurs from the Americas that with their innovation, technology, creativity and social awareness will develop the needed solutions in order to improve the world. By participating in TIC Americas, participants will get access to seed capital opportunities, mentoring, international visibility, investments, and international markets; additionally, the best proposals will participate in the finals, which will be held in June 2016 in the Dominican Republic.
Registrations for the competition began on September 3rd, 2015, and will remain open until January 15th, 2016. Subsequently, judges and international experts will evaluate the participants’ proposals. Finalists will be announced in April 2016; finalists will get training and mentoring sessions toward the finals, which will be held within the framework of the OAS General Assembly.
TIC Americas is a program developed by YABT, an international non-profit organization that works closely with the General Secretariat of the OAS. YABT supports the goals of OAS Member States, fostering youth development initiatives that promote the creation of sustainable businesses.
