YABT and OEA lead a Workshop in Campus Party Uruguay

Washington, DC, April 05, 2022 The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the Organization of American States (OAS) in Uruguay, joined the Campus Party Uruguay, leading the workshop “Innovative Entrepreneurship and Youth Leadership in the Americas” on April 1st at the Convention Center in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

During the session around of 40 young people received new tools and key business resources to successfully startup. As well, the access to multiple opportunities of professional training and scale-up their venture for a positive impact in the design of a sustainable future. 

At the same time, they learned first-hand about the channels of participation of the VI Young Americas Forum, one of the three official forums of the IX Summit of the Americas. Also they were invited to complete the Virtual Consultation, organize Youth Dialogues, and send their Applications to participate in the hemispheric forum in Los Angeles, June 2022.

This session was lead on site in situ by the OAS Representative in Uruguay, Ambassador Claudia Barrientos, and by YABT: Eugenio Bidondo, Martín Lezcano and via videoconference by Edgar Maestre and Karina Bonilla.

Furthermore, the special participation of Araceli Luna, CEO of Killa Vive Verde, Alumni of the Eco-Challenge program, presenting the theme “Tracing goals from a venture with purpose”. Araceli Luna shared the testimony of her journey as a young entrepreneur highlighting: “innovative ventures have to start looking to solve a problem, and at the same time generate an impact.”

The Campus Party began on April 1st and ended on April 3rd. There were 24 hours of multidisciplinary activities including presentations. Where young people, communities, universities, companies and institutions met and built a future together using technology as a tool to change the world by being conscientious and responsible.
