More than 2,000 participants are expected in the 1st Conference: Breaking Paradigms for a Better Future

Washington, D.C. November 17, 2022 – The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the Instituto Municipal de Atención a la Juventud de San Miguel de Allende (IMAJSMA) join forces within the framework of the San Miguel de Allende Municipal Youth Month, to provide the Magisterial Conference: Breaking Paradigms for a Better Future, to be held on November 22 at 11:30 am, Guanajuato time, Mexico, based at the Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico industrial y de servicios No. 60, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

The Magisterial Conference is part of the process of the Young Americas Forum, an official platform for youth participation in high-level meetings on the continent, which in particular provides opportunities for the youth of San Miguel to be involved in the efforts to implement the agreements reached in the VI Young Americas Forum, an official event of the IX Summit of the Americas, held in Los Angeles, California, in June of this year and which brought together the Heads of State and Government of our continent to discuss an agenda of common work under the motto: “Building a sustainable, resilient and equitable future” for our hemisphere.

Likewise, the conference will be the stellar event of the activities of the Municipal Youth Month of San Miguel de Allende, bringing together hundreds of young people from high school with technical careers and university in a hybrid format, in order to present them with various opportunities for international development and global programs that strengthen their participation, leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Conference has as speakers Cecilia Vilchis, Program Manager at YABT, the first Mexican to carry the voice of the youth of the continent to hemispheric leaders during the IX Summit of the Americas and Eduardo Elías Program Manager at YABT, who leads and coordinates programs hemispheric organizations that are committed to innovation and youth entrepreneurship, and who has participated in the World Bank Youth Summit.

YABT and IMAJSMA support the development of the youth of the hemisphere in order to foster an enthusiastic, responsible, participative and committed youth with society. This alliance represents the link between pioneering organizations that promote entrepreneurship and innovation among young people, allowing them to access a network of experts, leaders from the public and private sectors, and young leaders and entrepreneurs in the region. This alliance arose as a result of the participation of the Municipal Youth Secretary and YABT Mexican Youth Delegate Genaro Sánchez in the IX Summit of the Americas of the VI Young Americas Forum that took place in Los Angeles California and in the I Young Americas Meeting in Lima, Peru.

The Instituto Municipal de Atención a la Juventud de San Miguel de Allende (IMAJSMA) is a Decentralized Public Organization of the Municipal Government of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, whose main objective is to transmit and develop knowledge and activities in youth between the ages of 12 and 29 years, as well as promoting the development of San Miguel youth to achieve and increase their integration and full and effective participation in economic, labor, political, cultural, recreational, scientific and social life. Currently, the IMAJSMA work project based on the Municipal Government Program leads its actions and activities on the main axes of education, innovation, culture and inclusion.
