Washington, DC, United States, November 21, 2022. The Young Americas Business Trust, the Organization of American States (OAS) and PepsiCo Latin American Beverages announced the opening of registrations for the Eco-Challenge 2023 “Sustainability Awards”, after having made public the official launch of a new edition of the program on October 3rd during the I Young Americas Meeting, in Lima, Peru.
The Eco-Challenge is the sustainable innovation category of the Program Talent and Innovation Competitions of the Americas (TIC Americas), and which, over 13 consecutive editions, has involved more than 28,779 young entrepreneurs and innovators from 34 countries of the Americas.
This program has been the step of great leaders and role models of entrepreneurship in the region, such as Walter Mata, CEO of WAS Company, who was awarded as the “Inventor of the year” by the MIT Innovators Under 35 awards in 2022; Felipe Cardoso, Co-Founder of EcoPanplas who will later participate in the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva and COP26 during 2021; or Jeronimo Batista Bucher, Founder of Sorui and representative of Argentina at the G20 Youth Summit and recognized by Harvard as one of the “100 Leaders of tomorrow” in 2019; among many others.
For this edition, the Eco-Challenge seeks proposals and innovative business models developed by young entrepreneurs from OAS Member States and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and their Associate States, who are between 18 and 34 years old and present an initiative or business capable of positively impact the planet and people through the following Priorities: Education and Technology.
This program is aligned with the PepsiCo sustainability strategy: PEP+ and offers its participants great business development opportunities, access to professional feedback, international networking, access to mentorship opportunities and a prize of $10,000 US dollars for the best team of each Priority, and much more.
The Eco-Challenge will receive proposals from November 21, 2022 to April 2, 2023. The participation in the program is completely for free.
