Announcement of Finalist of the Eco-Challenge 2023

Washington, D.C., June 1, 2023. The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) in collaboration with PepsiCo Bebidas Latinoamérica and the Organization of American States (OAS), are pleased to announce the 8 Finalist teams of the 2023 Eco-Challenge, which received proposals on two priorities: Education and Technology.

The Eco-Challenge is a special category of TIC Americas that promotes sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean through the identification and training of young people who lead business and innovative proposals with the ability to positively impact the planet and people.

As a sign of young people’s commitment to solving the social, environmental and economic challenges of their communities and the continent, a total of 2,490 young people from 35 countries registered their innovative proposals and sustainable business initiatives in this edition of the program.

YABT and PepsiCo, through the 2023 Eco-Challenge, worked hand in hand with this group of young people in the development of innovative solutions that contribute to the creation of a diverse, equitable and inclusive society; as well as in the generation, development and growth of business models and initiatives with the ability to decrease environmental impact. All of this thanks to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the promotion of regenerative agriculture practices, the reduction and recycling of the use of plastics and the correct management of water; thus responding to the PepsiCo Positive (Pep+) sustainability strategy and its three pillars: Positive Agriculture, Positive Value Chain and Positive Choices.
