Washington, D.C., April 16, 2024. The current edition of the Talent and Innovation Competitions of the Americas (TIC Americas) has officially closed its call for entries with 1,971 registrations from 31 countries in the region, involving 2,393 participants.
YABT expresses its gratitude to the partners and to every young person who accepted the challenge of joining the program to present their innovative initiatives that address the emerging problems of the region. Likewise, the gratitude is extended to the program’s strategic partners, local allies, international experts, the organization’s team, and everyone who contributed to the success of the call.
As a pioneering hemispheric program in youth innovation developed by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the Organization of American States (OAS), TIC Americas 2024 mobilized numerous local organizations from multiple sectors and young leaders who made possible to reach a broader base of the communities, which now perceives the benefits of the series of activities and support resources provided by the program.
TIC Americas 2024 consists of the InnovAction Challenge 2.0 in partnership with the Inter-American Foundation, which in its second edition focuses on developing and implementing ideas and proposals with innovative solutions that promote climate resilience and support the construction of a sustainable future. Similarly, and in partnership with USA for IOM, it hosts the first edition of the “Youth on the Move” Innovation Challenge, which seeks to support and accelerate innovative ideas and new business models that promote and facilitate the socioeconomic integration of Venezuelan migrants residing in Ecuador, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.
Throughout the call, several trainings have been conducted through YABT BootCamp, led by prominent industry and international development experts, supporting registered teams in refining their business models and developing their deliverables in the program.
The next phase of TIC Americas 2024 consists of the Semifinal Evaluations, which will be carried out by a select committee of international experts, who will not only evaluate the projects for the selection of Finalist teams but will also provide feedback to each evaluated project as one of the benefits of participating in the program. The announcement of the Finalists will be made in June on the YABT website and social media channels.
