YABT participates in the Economy Week of the “Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México”

Washington, D.C., November 4th, 2021 – With the motto “Mexico on the path to economic recovery: the faces of the new reality”, the Economy Week was held at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, in which the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) participated virtually on October 27th giving the Conference: “Importance of entrepreneurship, innovation and youth participation in post-pandemic economic recovery efforts”, by Mrs. Valerie Lorena, Executive Director at YABT.

The presentation focused on explaining Mexico’s position in comparison to other countries regarding the effects of COVID-19, as well as post-pandemic recovery actions and the role of Mexican youth in these actions.

The main topics addressed, which made the current situation visible and made Mexican youth aware of Mexico’s position in times of pandemic, were: labor force, social inequality, gender equity, youth and youth entrepreneurship.

During the conference, actions that can be carried out for the post-pandemic recovery were also discussed. Those actions include: Implementation of circular economy models, public policies and foreign investment, assistance and social security, employment for vulnerable young people and reintegration into the labour market; youth participation, training and mentorship programs, as well as support for entrepreneurs.

Finally, it was also delved into YABT, explaining its work as an international organization that promotes the economic and social development of youth by providing them with access to opportunities for the development of entrepreneurial skills; thus positively impacting the youth of the region. In the same instance, an invitation was extended to entrepreneurs to register and participate in TIC Americas through the website: www.ticamericas.net, and join a growing network of young entrepreneurs in the region.
