USA for IOM and YABT raise thematic issues of Entrepreneurship in Motion before the VI Youth Forum of the IX Summit of the Americas

Washington, D.C., June 06, 2022 – The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) is pleased to partner with USA for IOM to highlight the contribution of Entrepreneurship in Motion during the VI Young Americas Forum, one of three official forums of the IX Summit of the Americas, on June 8 and 9 in Los Angeles, California.

YABT and USA for IOM joined their experience and knowledge to support the incursion of the migrant and refugee community in the productive economy of the hosts communities, with special emphasis on youth and women, and to promote the participation and contributions of migrant youth around to the theme of the IX Summit of the Americas: “Building a sustainable, resilient, and equitable future”.

Both organizations announced that they will hold a High-Level Plenary Session entitled “Entrepreneurship in Motion: a tool for the socioeconomic integration of young migrants and refugees”, on June 9 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in Los Angeles, California.  During such, they seeks to hold an open conversation to introduce the value of the Entrepreneurship in Movement Program promoted by USA for IOM, and make visible the positive contributions that migrants make to the societies of origin, in transit, and final destinations in the Americas.

The plenary session will feature the IOM Director General, Mr. Antonio Vitorino, as the main speaker, followed by a panel discussion with representatives from USA for IOM, YABT, Citi Foundation, and young migrants testimonies.  The live broadcast will be available on the VI Young Americas Forum website: www.yabt.net/foro

The VI Young Americas Forum, combines youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and collective action focused on a more equitable and sustainable future; working with youth to define priorities and concrete recommendations for their governments, and adopt a hemispheric agenda and commitment to implement the mandates emanating from the Summit’s process.
