The I Hemispheric Meeting of Young people of the Americas will be held as part of the activities of the upcoming General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), where young leaders and entrepreneurs will raise their recommendations and show the impact of its innovative solutions before leaders of the hemisphere.
Washington, DC August 26, 2022 – The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) is pleased to officially announce the I Hemispheric Meeting of Young People of the Americas: Peru 2022, to be held on October 3rd and 4th in Lima, Peru, as part of the official activities of the 52nd General Assembly of the Organization of American States, whose main theme for this year is “Together against inequality and discrimination.”
The two-day Meeting will take place in a hybrid format, and will be an opportunity for young people and hemispheric leaders to debate and make visible the innovative proposals and solutions promoted by youth to eradicate social gaps in the economic, social and political spheres. This meeting also provides follow-up and support to youth actions that have been implemented since the adoption of the Declaration of Commitment and Action Plan of the VI Young Americas Forum.
The program of the Meeting includes the Policy Lab “Youth Political Engagement”, with the keynote speaker Scott Warren, Member of the Agora SNF Institute of Johns Hopkins University; and Specialist for Leadership, Civic Engagement and Youth Policy, at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The Hemispheric Dialogue will also take place with the purpose to include the youth perspective and action in the development of government policy and especially the central theme of the 52nd OAS General Assembly. In addition, there will be official announcements for the entrepreneurial community through the Talent and Innovation Competitions of the Americas Program (TIC Americas).
From this moment, and until September 4, 2022, young people between 18 and 34 years of age from the countries of the Americas are eligible to submit their application to this form.
